Something Soft for a Hard Day

I have a lot of thoughts and feelings this morning but I’m too sad and tired to really get into it. All I really want to say with regards to what happened last night is that if you are a woman, member of the LGBTQ+ community, immigrant, and/or person of colour living in America, I am sorry. I love you. I respect you. I will do the best I can with the privileges I’ve been granted to make the world a better place.

On a day that feels so hard to face, I thought I’d post something soft. I’m not much of a poet but over the weekend I had a dream in which Em was reciting some pretty words to May. When I woke up I tried my best to jot what she said down before it faded.

What I wound up with isn’t stunning, but I liked it just enough to keep it.
