WWW Wednesday – October 26th, 2016

It’s that time again! Another Wednesday means another WWW Wednesday post.

Refresher: this meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and was revived by Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer three reading-themed ‘W’ questions and then post the link to your post in the comments of Taking on a World of Words weekly post.

The questions are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What am I currently reading?

ari-and-danteAristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe has been hailed as the required reading for any fan of LGBT+ YA. I’m so glad to finally be reading it because, let me tell you, it does not disappoint. I’m trying to pace myself and enjoy it slowly.

What did I recently finish reading?

labyrinth-lostAs mentioned in my last WWW Wednesday, I spent most of the summer waiting for Labyrinth Lost to be release because I was so excited about the prospect of a magical bisexual protagonist. I did love the book, but ultimately for reasons I didn’t anticipate. Alex’s sexuality wound up being a fairly subtle element of the story, which at first I thought I was disappointed by. In the end, however I was grateful with how Alex’s story was so much more than who she loves because it’s exactly the kind of LGBT+ representation I’m looking for.

What really wound up pulling me in was the lore. The bruja myths and community were so fascinating. There are also a lot of really intriguing secondary characters, which makes for a robust cast. At this point I want nothing more than an entire book dedicated to aunt Rosaria and her story!

What will I read next?

I don’t really know! I’ve said it once already but I really need to finish Station Eleven. I also want to eventually pick up Hannah Hart’s new memoir, Buffering. I think it’s time to shake things up a bit with some non-fiction!
