WWW Wednesday – October 5th, 2016

Hoo boy, it’s been a while since I posted a WWW Wednesday!

Refresher: this meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and was revived by Taking on a World of Words. The idea is to answer three reading-themed ‘W’ questions and then post the link to your post in the comments of Taking on a World of Words weekly post.

The questions are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

labyrinth-lostI spent most of this past summer anxiously awaiting September because I couldn’t wait for Zoraida Córdova’s Labyrinth Lost to hit the shelves! I was finally able to pick it up a couple weeks ago and I am LOVING IT so far. I was attracted by the bisexual protagonist but I’ve found myself even more enthralled by the bruja magic and lore. I highly recommend it!

What did you recently finish reading?

About a Girl - Sarah McCarryThe last time I did a WWW Wednesday I had just started About a Girl by Sarah McCarry and I wasn’t sold on it at the time. The protagonist, Tally, was rubbing me the wrong way. I am very happy to say that, by the time I was finished, the character had grown on me. I actually adored this book, and fell in love with the dark atmosphere and rich mythology. While you can get away with reading it as a stand-alone, I imagine it would have been better to read the other two books in the series first. Lots of mystery and magic and sex. Good times all around!

What do you think you’ll read next?

ari-and-danteI have Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz ready and waiting. Yes, I will finally be reading this LGBT must-read. After all the hype, I’m pretty excited about it!
